Associated Press

The Associated Press is the essential global news network, delivering accurate, insightful news from every corner of the world, 24 hours a day. Since its founding in 1846, AP has been the first to report many of history’s most important moments, and every day, AP journalists, photographers and videographers file news from the front lines of the world's biggest stories.

AP’s reporting, photography, audio and video are published and broadcast by the world’s leading newspapers, TV channels, apps, radio stations, websites and magazines—in fact, over half the world’s population sees AP news content on any given day.

As a leader in the field of journalism, AP fights for freedom of the press and the public’s right to know. Its reporters take great risks to file in-depth stories from countries where the press is otherwise restrained, and in the U.S., AP aggressively uses the Freedom of Information Act to advocate for transparency and accountability in government.

With more experience reporting and delivering news than any other agency, a well-earned reputation for independence and accuracy, and a fierce commitment to the people’s right to know, AP is the definitive source for trusted news.

Kardiac Kids 2.0 Do it Again

ATLANTA (AP) - Brian Hoyer shook off three interceptions, leading the Cleveland Browns down the field in the final minute to set up Billy Cundiff's 37-yard field goal as time expired for a 26-24 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Taking advantage of the last of Hoyer's picks, the Falcons drove for Matt Bryant's 53-yard field goal with 44 seconds remaining to seize the lead.

But Hoyer completed four straight passes, the last of them to the Falcons 19, and spiked the ball with 5 seconds left. Cundiff trotted on and made his fourth field goal of the game for the Browns (7-4).

Atlanta (4-7), coming in improbably tied for first in the woeful NFC South, dropped to 0-7 against teams outside the division.

Isaiah Crowell scored a pair of touchdowns for the Browns, who also were bolstered by the return of Josh Gordon. He had eight catches for 120 yards.

Bengals Outkick Texans

HOUSTON (AP) - Andy Dalton threw for 233 yards and a touchdown and A.J. Green had 121 yards receiving to give the Cincinnati Bengals a 22-13 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday.

The Bengals (7-3-1) led throughout, but Houston (5-6) cut the lead to 3 late in the third quarter before Cincinnati tacked on two field goals in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Rookie Jeremy Hill scored on a 2-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter after an interception by Ryan Mallett for Cincinnati's only touchdown of the second half.

Mallett struggled in his second career start, finishing with 189 yards passing and often overthrowing open receivers. Houston's only touchdown came on a 60-yard interception return by Johnathan Joseph in the third quarter.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - D'Angelo Russell scored 32 points and Shannon Scott set a school record with 16 assists to lead 20th-ranked Ohio State to a 106-48 win against overmatched Sacred Heart on Sunday night.

Scott had 11 points to go with his assist total, which broke Aaron Craft's mark, while Jae'Sean Tate and Sam Thompson each had 12 points, Keita Bates-Diop 11 and Marc Loving 10. The Buckeyes (3-0) shot 57 percent from the field. Trey McDonald chipped in with 14 rebounds.

Yale Rallies Against Kent

KENT, Ohio (AP) - Matt Townsend scored 12 points, including the go-ahead layup with 46 seconds left to help Yale beat Kent State 66-59 in the inaugural Men Against Breast Cancer Classic championship on Sunday.

Kris Brewer made a pair of free throws to give Kent State a 59-58 lead before Townsend's go-ahead shot. Justin Sears made four free throw attempts and Makai Mason hit a pair to cap the scoring.

Jack Montague scored 13 points, and Sears had 12 with nine boards for Yale (4-1). Armani Cotton scored 11 points, including three 3-pointers for the Bulldogs, who shot 50 percent from the field.

Jimmy Hall scored to give Kent State (4-1) its largest lead of the second half, 34-26 with 19:35 remaining. Montague's jumper tied it at 36 with 16:18 remaining, and then neither team led by more than four before the Bulldogs pulled away late. Hall finished with 22 points.

Akron Zips Past Cocks

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Noah Robotham had 16 points and Deji Ibitayo 15 as Akron outlasted South Carolina to take third place at the Charleston Classic with a 68-63 victory Sunday.

The Zips (3-1) defeated their second Power Five conference team in this event after opening with a 66-46 win over Southern Cal of the Pac-12 Conference here on Thursday. This time, their Southeastern Conference opponent played them tight throughout, erasing a 12-point second half lead when Laimonas Chatkevicius hit a foul shot to tie things at 55-all with 6:55 remaining.

But Kwan Cheatham had the go-ahead basket as the Zips closed the game on 10-5 run.

Akron had lost to South Carolina twice last year, once in the Diamond Head Classic in Hawaii on Christmas Day and then a few days later at the Gamecocks' Colonial Life Arena.

Sindarius Thornwell had 13 points to lead South Carolina (2-3).
