Tribe Rocks Rangers

  CLEVELAND (AP) - Carlos Santana capped and eight-run third inning with a three-run homer, leading the Cleveland Indians past Texas 12-3 on Wednesday to end the Rangers' seven-game winning streak.
 
   Carlos Carrasco (6-4) allowed only Robinson Chirinos' solo homer in the fifth while pitching eight sharp innings. The right-hander held Texas to five hits and struck out eight.
 
   Texas starter Colby Lewis (4-3) allowed 10 runs and 11 hits in 2 2-3 innings. He was chased in the third when the Indians sent 12 men to the plate.
 
   The lopsided loss ended Texas' seven-game winning streak.
 
   Josh Hamilton singled in the seventh for his first hit since returning to the Rangers on Monday, but was thrown out by left fielder Mike Aviles trying for a double. Hamilton is 1 for 11 in three games after being acquired from the Angels on April 27.

Rockies Top Reds

   CINCINNATI (AP) - Nolan Arenado hit a three-run homer on Wednesday, extending his hitting tear, and Kyle Kendrick pitched into the eighth inning for his first win since opening day, leading the Colorado Rockies to a 6-4 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.
 
   The Rockies won for the fourth time in five games, taking two of three in the series. The Reds have lost 10 of 11, a streak that started when one of the home run smokestacks at Great American Ball Park caught fire during a loss to the Giants on May 15.
 
   Arenado hit his 10th homer in the first inning off Mike Leake (2-4) and added a single. In the past four games, the third baseman is 9 for 16 with three homers, one triple and 10 RBIs.

Pirates Continue Roll

PITTSBURGH -- Jung Ho Kang delivered a two-run single while the Pirates scored five times in the seventh to earn their sixth straight win, 5-2 over Miami.

Gerrit Cole surrendered homers by Justin Bour and Christian Yelich before notching his seventh win, scattering seven hits in as many innings.

Cavs-Hawks Dynamite TNT Ratings

   NEW YORK (AP) - Cleveland's four-game sweep of Atlanta in the Eastern Conference finals averaged 6.8 million viewers on TNT, a 7 percent increase from last season's coverage.
 
   The four games, along with the Inside the NBA studio show, were the two highest-rated programs on cable each night. Game 3 was the most-watched program on television - cable and broadcast.
 
   The Cavs' 118-88 victory Tuesday night that ended the series was the most-viewed and highest-rated sports program on TV.
 
   Turner Sports says Wednesday that the four games averaged a 4.2 rating.

Streaking Bucs Rally past Marlins 5-2

   PITTSBURGH (AP) - Jung Ho Kang capped a late rally with a two-run single and the Pittsburgh Pirates ran their winning streak to six games with a 5-2 win over the Miami Marlins on Wednesday.
 
   Josh Harrison and Pedro Alvarez added RBI singles during Pittsburgh's five-run seventh as the Pirates won for the first time this season when trailing after six innings. Gerrit Cole (7-2) struck out seven in seven efficient innings. Mark Melancon worked the ninth for his 12th save as Pittsburgh completed an eight-game homestand with a flourish.
 
   The Pirates spent five innings getting handcuffed by Miami starter Brad Hand but jumped on relievers Mike Dunn and Sam Dyson (2-2).
 
   Justin Bour and Christian Yelich hit solo homers for the Marlins, who fell to 2-8 under manager Dan Jennings. Miami had been 12-0 when leading after six innings but were swept for the sixth time this season when Pittsburgh got going.
